NSS Orientation Programme

About 150 NSS volunteers of the college joined the orientation programme and the planned for the NSS volunteers. The programme was held at 12:30 pm on 26th July in Bosco Hall. The sessons was animated by the NSS programme Officers Sir Salkam Momin and Sir Suraj Pradhan. Professor Prabhat Mohanty, former NSS programme coordinator was present at the orientation programmed and motivated the students.

Welcoming the volunteers Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal told them that the college had to struggle to restart NSS programme after it was discontinued for many years. He thanked the NSS NEHU for allowing the college to restart the programme. He also reminded that through the volunteers the college is able to offer valuable help to the society. He mentioned the advantages of being an NSS volunteer. He exhorted the volunteers to give their best to the commitment made to serve society through the programmes.

Dr. Prabhat Mohanty said that ‘as we have received so much from the society, now through the NSS programme we will give back to the society.’ He said that when he was the programme officer of the college, he had opportunities to visit many places in India and learned much from those experiences and encounters.

Sir Suraj Pradhan, NSS Programme Officer of the college spoke to the volunteers and explained to them the plans and programmes of the NSS for the Academic Year 2018-19. He told the volunteers that there will be another orientation soon to help students know more about NSS. The orientation programme ended with the Principal expressing gratitude to the programme officers in taking NSS forward.
