DBC Students took part in Mock Drills on Earthquake

As part of the multi-state mock exercise on earthquake disaster, the students of the college actively participated in the disaster management organized by the District Authorities, West Garo Hills on Wednesday 31 October 2018.

In Tura, the mock drills were conducted at DC Office Complex, Tura Civil Hospital, Tura Super market, Mondoltilla locality and the Pechon Memorial School. The exercises of evacuation, search and rescue and first aid treatment and triage before being shifted by ambulances to different hospitals in the town saw an active participation from all the line departments, police, fire and emergency services, BSF, students, NCC and NSS volunteers of the college.

In Tura, the drill was done by simulating earthquake of 8.7 magnitude on the Richter scale in DC Office. The students of the college, numbering about 50 of them were specially chosen to be part of the exercise. Most of them were dressed up as injured person and were given first aid by the concerned department. When contacted by the management, those who participated in the mock drill said that it was a good experience as they were able to contribute to the society on how to respond in emergency situations.
