DBC celebrates 100 years of Salesians presence in NE

On 12th January 2022, the college community gathered around to commemorate the 100 years of the arrival of the Salesians to NorthEast India. The programme was held at the college amphitheatre. The NCC cadets of the college were present for the programme. The memorial flag was hoisted by Rev Fr Louis Arimboor, Administrator of the college.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Louis said that the celebration is a reminder of the great work that God worked through the instrumentality of the Salesian missionaries. He added that anything that is done is for the sake of young people.

Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal thanked the cadets for the presence and said that the Salesians are celebrating 100 years presence in NorthEast India. He added that due to the self sacrificing spirit of the first batch of Salesian priests and brothers who left everything to come to the unknown place called NorthEast that we see today the fruit of their labours. ‘God is blessing and continue to bless the Salesian congregation,” Fr. Bivan added.

The students concluded the jubilee flag hoisting programme with a hymn to Don Bosco.
