DBC celebrates 73rd Republic Day of India

Don Bosco College, Tura celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal. A plethora of activities were organised to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students. The tricolor was unfurled at 07:00 am in college by Rev Fr. George Plathottam, Secretary of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conference (FABC), Manila, Philippines.

During his speech, he wished that every citizen of India worked for the progress and development of the country. He spoke at length of the freedom struggle of the freedom fighters and their dedicated service to the growth of the nation. He inspired the students with motivational speech and told the students to abide by the constitution of our motherland and fulfill all their duties as responsible citizens.

 

Due to the COVID protocols only the NCC cadets and the teaching and non-teaching staff members were present for the unfurling of the National Flag in the college campus.

Senior cadet Albert Sangma spoke on the occasion and explained the meaning of the Republic Day celebrations to those present.

The cadets presented soulful patriotic song to celebrate the monumental day. The NCC cadets took part at the Republic Day celebrations at the district level. The programme was held at Matchakolgre L. P. School Field, Tura.

A group of students also took part in the cultural programme and presented a Bhutanese Dance.

Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal gave the vote of thanks.
