Training on Emerging Trend and Technologies in Library held

 

A one-day workshop for the faculty/ librarian in the colleges of Garo Hills Districts of Meghalaya on the theme “Emerging Trends & Technologies in Libraries “was conducted at premises of Don Bosco College (Degree Section), Tura. The programme was a daylong programme today, on 27th April 2022, Wednesday, and commenced from 10 AM. The Programme was attended by faculty and librarians from 15 different colleges from Garo Hills region.

The programme was initiated by an inaugural session where the chief guest of the programme was Shri Dharmananda Banai, AGM, SBI, Tura. The programme was also attended by the Resource persons from North Eastern Hill University and the principal, Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim and vice principal, Fr Abhilash V.J. of the college.

In the day long programme after the inaugural session there was three technical sessions which was taken up by Dr. A J Singh, Asst Librarian, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura followed by the second technical session by Dr Batskhem Sten, Information Scientist, NEHU Central Library Shillong. The third technical session was taken up by Dr Biswajit Paul and Shri Bravewell Mawthoh of Don Bosco College, Tura.

The programme ended at 3:30 PM. The participants were given certificates to attend the program and feedback was sought from the participants. The programme ended with the national anthem and a photo session. The Vice principal thanked all the participants and the principal of the college to have made the programme successful.
