Pre-Christmas Celebration 2022

The College celebrated the Pre-Christmas on 16th December, 2022 together with the teaching, non teaching faculties and students. Fitting for the Christmas occasion, the college was beautifully decorated with lights and was complete with Christmas tree and beautifully done up manger. The celebration started off with an invocation of the Almighty through the Prayer song “Oh Holy Night” by Haijist Marak. This was followed by reading of the Scripture, the verse selected from the Bible for the occasion was from Luke 1: 26-35 ‘The announcement of the birth of the Christ’. The vibrant college choir sang Christmas Carols and enthralled the gathering. To commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, to worship and adore Him a floral tribute was paid to baby Jesus by the Principal, Fr Zacharias George, Principal of DBCTE, Fr Louis Arimboor, Professors and students as well.

Principal Fr.  Bivan Rodriques Mukhim in his message spoke about the true meaning of Christmas and how ‘giving’ is the true definition of Christmas. The auspicious celebration was made sweeter with the cutting of the Christmas cake by the Principal and the Professors. The college choir continued to delight the gathering with another round of Christmas Carols.

Christmas message was shared further by Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, IQAC Coordinator. She spoke at length about Christmas as the incarnation of Jesus Christ and spreading of love and hope. Rev Fr. Zachary Principal of DBCTE also shared his short yet meaningful message on Christmas. The festivities continued with special acapella performance of Christmas songs by Newfield and group. The final Christmas message was shared to the gathering by Dr, Colnat B. Marak who spoke about being generous and kind to everyone following the path of Jesus Christ. He also stressed on giving rather than receiving as a true act of kindness during the Christmas season.

The fantastic and grand entry of the Santa Claus added more joy and cheer to the celebration. The Santa moving about distributing gifts and candies to everyone was one of the highlight of the celebration and it made the celebration a lot more merrier. The celebration was finally concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Madam Cherimchi M Sangma.
