Department of Economics organizes Departmental Seminar

 

The Department of Economics organized a seminar for the honours students of the department on 3.4.2023 in Bosco Hall at 1.00 pm.

 

The seminar was inaugurated by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim, Principal of the college. He spoke about the benefits of the seminar to the students which help to improve knowledge and team spirit.

The head of the department Mr. Siddhartha Roy in his speech encouraged the students to take part in such academic activities which will help to develop their confidence and leadership quality. He also appreciated Mr. Brave Well Mawthoh, Mrs. Koyel Roy and Mr. Tengsuang K.Sangma for guiding the students in the preparation of the papers.

 

The seminar aimed at acquainting the students with new areas of knowledge and updating them about the latest technological developments, developing a sense of belonging, boosting a sense of self confidence and team spirit.

 

The students of 2nd, 4th and 6th semester presented two papers each on the following topics:

1. Look East Policy and Act East Policy

2. The performance and success of MGNREGA in India

3. Central Bank and Digital Currency

4. GST

5. Make in India Initiatives

6. Start Ups and Stand Up India scheme

7. NITI Aayog

8. Direct Benefit Transfer

9. Minimum Support Price

10. FOCUS and FOCUS+ schemes in Meghalaya

11. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana

12. North Eastern Council.

At the end, Mr. Brave Well Mawthoh appreciated the students for their informative presentation and thanked everyone for their hard work.
