Don Bosco College Commemorates 77th Independence Day with Zeal and Patriotism.

 

In a vibrant display of unity and patriotism, Don Bosco College (DBC) marked the 77th Independence Day of the nation by hosting a spirited celebration. The event took place on the morning of August 15th at 7:00 a.m. on the college terrace, where the Tricolor flag was unfurled, symbolizing the spirit of freedom and progress.

 

The solemn occasion was graced by the presence of Rev (Dr) Fr Pius Varghese, the esteemed Principal of Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura, who hoisted the Tricolor with utmost reverence. Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic participants, which included the teaching faculty, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, members of the National Service Scheme (NSS), the Student Welfare Association (SWA), and the students themselves, Rev (Dr) Fr Pius Varghese delivered an inspiring speech that invoked the essence of India's rich cultural heritage and legacy.

In his address, the Chief Guest urged all those present to take pride in their Indian identity and heritage. He emphasized the need for unity and mutual respect among citizens, transcending barriers of age, color, race, and religion. Furthermore, he fervently prayed for the nation's continual growth and development.

The meticulous organization of the entire event was orchestrated by the dedicated NCC cadets of Don Bosco College. Under the guidance of CTOs Mr Abhimanyu Sharma and Ms Westerly R. Marak, the cadets flawlessly executed the program, creating an atmosphere of reverence and patriotism that resonated with all in attendance.

The Principal, Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim extended a warm vote of thanks to all those who participated in the celebration. The event not only commemorated the nation's hard-fought freedom but also demonstrated the institution's commitment to fostering a sense of national pride and unity among its students and staff.
