Don Bosco College, Tura Hosts Parents Meet 2023 for Bachelor of Science Students.

Don Bosco College, Tura, organized its annual Parents' Meet for Bachelor of Science students, covering Semester I, III, and V, with the collaboration of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Students-Teachers-Parents Appraisal Committee. The event took place on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the DBCTE Hall.

The event began with a prayer song performed by the students, setting a serene tone for the day. Mr. Habul Das, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Assistant Coordinator of the Students-Teachers-Parents Appraisal Committee, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, expressing gratitude for their presence.

Dr. Arindam Ghosh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and a member of IQAC, delivered an insightful talk on Quality Assurance and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He requested all the parents to be present on the day when the NAAC Peer Team visit the College.

A significant highlight of the event was a motivational talk on "Drugs and Substance Abuse Prevention" by Ms. Balmuri K. Marak, Assistant Director of the Secondary Branch at MBOSE. Ms. Marak emphasized the critical role that students, parents, and teachers play in preventing substance abuse among the youth.

The academic departments were also featured, with faculty members sharing their insights and experiences. Dr. Biswajit Paul, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Zoology; Mr. Jayatosh De, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Lilybell Ch. Marak, Assistant Professor, and Head of the Department of Botany; Mr. Mahidhar Rajbongshi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, and Mr. Habul Das, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, shared valuable information about their respective departments.

Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Tura, addressed the attendees and shared an overview of the college's recent achievements and ongoing initiatives. He highlighted on the NEP20 and the implementation of it by the College.

The event also featured a dynamic Q&A session where parents had the opportunity to engage with the college's administration. This session allowed parents to raise questions and share their perspectives on various aspects of the college.

Mr. Tenang R. Marak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology and a member of the Students-Teachers-Parents Appraisal Committee, extended a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all the participants and attendees who contributed to the success of the Parents' Meet 2023.
