Exploring Vocational Education: Students Visit Bosco Skill Institute and Agri-based Green Skill Training Institute in Meghalaya.

 

Students from the First Semester Bachelor of Arts, Shift III embarked on an educational journey to expand their horizons on September 7, 2023. They visited two institutions in North Garo Hills District, Meghalaya, the Bosco Skill Institute at Mendal and the Agri-based Green Skill Training Institute at Jorapara.

The students were in for an exciting day filled with learning and hands-on experiences. At the Bosco Skill Institute, they had the unique opportunity to receive firsthand training on assembling solar panels. The institute's dedicated staff guided them through the intricate process, imparting valuable skills that align with the growing renewable energy sector. Additionally, the students received essential training on marketing strategies during their visit to the institute's outlet center, strategically located on the National Highway.

The visit to the Agri-based Green Skill Training Institute at Jorapara was equally enlightening. Here, the students were engaged in a session on Life Skills by Fr. Ignatius Gari, the Associate Director of Bosco Reach Out. This insightful session aimed to equip them with practical life skills that extend beyond the classroom.

The students also had the opportunity to explore the institute's animal farm and the rubber production center, gaining insights into agriculture and rubber processing, vital sectors in the region's economy.

The students made a stop at the Bajendoba Mission and the Mendal Mission, further enriching their cultural and educational experience.

The college expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Ignatius Gari, the Associate Director of Bosco Reach Out, Ulubari, Guwahati, and Rev. Fr. Benny Mushahary, the Director of Don Bosco Skill Institute, Mendal, for their efforts in facilitating this invaluable learning opportunity for the students.

The students were accompanied by the Principal, Vice Principal, and teachers, who ensured the smooth and enriching experience for the young minds. This visit not only broadened their knowledge but also allowed them to witness the practical applications of the skills they are acquiring in their academic journey.
