Fifth Late Adin Rongmei Inter-Class Basketball Tournament Kicks Off.

The highly anticipated Fifth Late Adin Rongmei Inter-Class Basketball Tournament commenced today with great enthusiasm at Don Bosco College, Tura. A total of 35 teams, consisting of students from all three shifts, have eagerly entered the competition, each with their eyes set on victory.

Rev Dr. Fr. Pius Varghese, the esteemed Principal of Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the importance of striking a balance between academics and co-curricular activities for the holistic development of the students. Fr. Pius Varghese also had the honor of hoisting the college flag, symbolizing the official commencement of the tournament.

Late Adin Rongmei, in whose honor this tournament was organized, served as a Lab Assistant in the Department of Physics at the institution. His untimely demise in 2017 left a void that continues to be felt within the College community. The tournament stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to his work, seeking to perpetuate his spirit among the students.

The basketball tournament will be held after regular class hours, allowing students to showcase their sporting talents while balancing their academic responsibilities. The participating teams will compete fiercely, aiming for the coveted championship title. The tournament will culminate with the final match scheduled for October 09, 2023, when the victors will be crowned.
