The Red Ribbon Youth Festival served as a platform for young individuals to engage in various competitions, including a marathon, quiz, drama, folk singing, and speech. These events aimed to not only foster a sense of healthy competition but also educate participants and attendees about the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.

Among the highlights of the festival were the Marathon, Drama, and Quiz competitions. The winners of these categories will go on to represent Garo Hills at the upcoming State-level competitions scheduled for September 22nd in Shillong.

The event commenced with an inaugural session graced by Dr. Rajamoni R. Marak, Senior Specialist and Nodal Officer at the ART Centre, in-charge of ICTC and the STI/RTI at Tura Civil Hospital. Dr. Marak, serving as the Chief Guest, emphasized the significance of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS within the youth community.

The concluding program featured Rev Dr. Pius Varghese, Principal of DBCTE, Tura, as the Chief Guest. Rev Dr. Varghese presented trophies and certificates to the winners, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Mr. Ajoy M. Lanong, Deputy Director of IEC at MACS, Shillong, was also present at the event. Mr. Lanong took the opportunity to encourage students to actively participate in the Red Ribbon program and contribute to spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS among their peers and communities.

The Red Ribbon Youth Festival was a resounding success, demonstrating the commitment of Don Bosco College and MACS to educating and engaging the youth in the fight against HIV/AIDS. By empowering young individuals with knowledge and a sense of responsibility, the festival aimed to make a meaningful contribution towards eradicating this global health challenge.
