In a bid to ignite a passion for Mathematics among students, Don Bosco College, Tura, hosted a one-day programme on the Celebration of the Departmental Seminar with the theme "Showcase of Girls Power". The event, organized by the Department of Mathematics and coordinated by Shri Habul Ch. The Chief Patron of the event, Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, oversaw the proceedings and commended the department for spearheading such an important initiative. He encouraged other departments to follow suit in organizing similar programmes in the future.

The seminar drew an impressive turnout, with nearly 150 students and faculty members from various departments of the Physical Science Stream in attendance. The inaugural session, expertly conducted by Raksha Srivastava and Viska Viva Ch. Marak, both Mathematics Honours B.Sc. students, set the stage for a day of enriching discussions and presentations.

Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, in his address, applauded the department for their efforts in promoting such an auspicious event and stressed the importance of empowering students through knowledge-sharing initiatives. Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, IQAC Coordinator, delivered an inspiring speech on girls' empowerment, highlighting the pivotal role that education plays in fostering a culture of equality.

Shri Habul Chandra Das emphasized the need for departmental seminars, emphasizing their role in fostering communication, exchanging ideas, and creating opportunities for learning and academic growth.

The technical session that followed saw enthusiastic participation from 5th Semester Mathematics Honours students, who presented on a range of topics. The students were divided into five groups, each addressing a different theme. This session provided a platform for students to showcase their research, critical thinking, and presentation skills.

The day-long celebration culminated in a prize distribution ceremony, where Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim awarded certificates to the winners and presenters, recognizing their exceptional contributions.
