Father-Son Army Officer Duo Inspires NCC Cadets at Don Bosco College, Tura.

 

In a momentous occasion at Don Bosco College, Tura, recently inducted Indian Army Officer, Second Lieutenant Nigel Hopkins P Marak, who graduated from the 145th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA), along with his father, Shri Daryl Hopkins K. Sangma, engaged in a motivational session with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets.

 

The father and son duo shared their inspiring journey, encouraging the NCC cadets to aspire for higher goals and instilling the belief that dedication and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.

Nigel Hopkins P Marak, addressing the cadets, spoke passionately about his personal experiences and the challenges he faced during his training at NDA. "There were times when I wanted to give up, but I believed in taking one more step towards success, and here I am today," he shared, emphasizing the importance of resilience in the pursuit of one's goals.

 

The principal of Don Bosco College, Rev Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, hailed Nigel as an inspiration and a source of pride for Meghalaya and Garo Hills. "You are a pride of Meghalaya and you are a pride of Garo Hills," he remarked, acknowledging the significant achievement of the young officer.

 

Dr Barbara S. Sangma, the IQAC Coordinator, praised the cohesive support provided by Nigel's family, stating that the guidance he received from his parents served as a guiding force in achieving such a remarkable feat at a young age.

 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by CTO Westerly R. Marak, expressing gratitude to the father-son duo for imparting valuable insights and motivating the NCC cadets to strive for excellence in their chosen paths.
