Entrepreneurship Workshop Ignites Innovative Spirit in Youth.

 

In a bid to foster innovation, creativity, and economic independence among the youth, the Re.mikkang Youth Club collaborated with various esteemed institutions, including the District Administration of West Garo Hills, Don Bosco College, Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA), Prime Hub, and Meghalaya Bain Development Agency (MBDA), to organize a two-day Entrepreneurship Encouragement and Development Programme. The event, held on August 25th and 26th, 2023, at the Don Bosco College of Teacher Education Hall, witnessed an enthusiastic participation of young minds eager to explore the realm of entrepreneurship.

 

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Shri Jagdish Chelani IAS, the Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Tura, who served as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, Chelani urged the students to channel their efforts into becoming entrepreneurs who proactively identify societal challenges and develop innovative solutions to tackle them. He emphasized the importance of nurturing a problem-solving mindset and encouraged attendees to unleash their creativity in pursuit of entrepreneurship.

 

Chelani stated, "To become entrepreneurs, you should first identify the problems and then find out a solution to the problem. While finding out the solution, you can begin to think, and in this way, you can come up with creative solutions to the problem." He further stressed the significance of individual initiative, motivating each student to aspire to create their own businesses and achieve success on their terms.

 

Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, the Principal of Don Bosco College, Tura, delved into the abundant natural resources that grace the picturesque landscape of Garo Hills. He highlighted the immense possibilities for entrepreneurial ventures within the region, urging participants to view the local resources as potential building blocks for their future businesses. Fr. Mukhim expressed his hope that the two-day programme would instill a profound sense of strategic thinking and inspire attendees to contemplate their roles in shaping the region's economic landscape.

 

During the inaugural session, Fr. Pius Varghese, Principal of Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura, extended his well-wishes to the program. He articulated his optimism that the workshop would not only achieve grand success but also bring about a transformative impact on the mindset of today's youth, paving the way for an era of innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

The President of Re.mikkang Youth Club, Shri Salrakh G. Sangma, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and resource persons. Expressing gratitude to the District Administration and Don Bosco College of Teacher Education for their unwavering support.

 

The event was marked by a vibrant Wangala Dance performance by students of Don Bosco College, Tura, symbolizing the rich cultural tapestry of the region. The participants were greeted with an uplifting song, further setting the tone for an engaging and empowering two-day workshop.
